Our neuro rehab in Banstead is looking for volunteers to support our therapy and activity departments to facilitate more one to one time and variety for our Clients.
Our Clients have had a brain injury or a spinal cord injury. This could result in them having physical difficulties or needing a wheelchair. Some Clients with a brain injury also have changes to their cognitive abilities such as memory and problem solving. Other people have difficulty communicating and understanding.
Volunteering with us could involve shadowing and supporting qualified therapists during a session, helping to set up, spending time listening and talking to Clients before and after sessions.
Or, perhaps you have a hobby or something you really enjoy, like painting, cooking or gardening which you would be happy doing with our residents. Do you enjoy sports or current affairs and could talk through the papers or football results, play cards, a board game or help research things on the computer?
We need volunteers who can regularly commit to the same time each week and anticipate being available to volunteer for a minimum of 3 months.
