Early access to specialist rehabilitation services is crucial after a brain injury so the individual can maximise their recovery. The pace and extent to which individuals may recover from brain injury varies hugely. Rehabilitation is about facilitating that recovery, helping people to adjust to life after their injury and minimising the effects of the brain injury.
To embark on the journey at QEF individuals should be medically stable although ongoing nursing needs and high levels of care can be accommodated by the specialist nursing team.
Clients may have severe cognitive, physical and communication difficulties, sensory difficulties, epilepsy and they may have some psychological and adjustment needs and social or behavioural difficulties.
