Our aim is to support individuals and prepare them for transition to the next stage of their lives, taking into account their specific disabilities but without a time constraint. We help them to make informed choices about the options available to them, to feel empowered about the decisions they make and to find their own voice. We teach life skills that make a real difference to their lives, here and long after they have completed their time with us.

Life coaches work in groups and on a one to one basis, to explore three defining questions:

  • What do I want to do with my life?
  • Where do I want to live?
  • How do I want to be supported?

Goals are achieved through the creation of individual learning plans, using person-centred approaches. Regular reviews of progress and goals are held and achievable targets agreed. Individuals are encouraged to work towards what they wish to get out of their lives rather than what they may perceive other adults want them to do. We create an extremely positive environment for each person to live in and help them to develop practical life skills that build greater independence.

We run a wide variety of activities and courses which are revised every four months to maintain variety. The time table is built in consultation with our residents. Every month there is a client forum where they can provide feedback, and each ‘term’ a specific forum is held to discuss what the next timetable should include. However, generally most courses would fit into one of the categories shown below and focus on empowering each individual.
