Through our partner charity VASD, we offer several options for accessible breaks with all the family. From self-catering holiday homes by the West Sussex coast to cruising along the Grand Union canal in our specially adapted canal boat, the QEF Jubilee.
Canal Boat - the QEF Jubilee
Our specially adapted canal boat, the QEF Jubilee, moored at Hemel Hempstead, has just undergone a renovation including an engine overhaul, flooring repairs, windows refurbishment, fixtures and fittings replaced, and new galley facilities. The boat is specially designed and equipped for disabled people. At 55 ft. long and 12.5 ft. wide, she is wider than standard canal boats, giving you comfortable access for wheelchairs. Facilities include a medical bed, hoist tracking systems and a wheelchair battery charger. Our boat is adapted so that disabled people can enjoy steering along the canal, from their wheelchair, using a joystick. Our trained skipper will greet your party and give you comprehensive instruction on the operation of the boat with particular regard to Health and Safety.
Self-catering Accessible Holiday Homes
Take a break at one of our self-catering, wheelchair accessible holiday homes on the Sussex coast. We have two homes to choose from, one at Elmer Sands near Bognor Regis and a newly refurbished chalet at the Beach Holiday Village in Bracklesham Bay, Wittering. Our accommodation is wheelchair friendly and adapted for disabled people; all have ceiling hoists in the bedroom. We also allow dogs on holidays.
