QEF has hosted a series of virtual events since December 2020 with expert guest speakers and QEF specialists, discussing the latest developments in neuro rehabilitation and how COVID-19 has impacted the delivery of holistic, person-centred therapy and care.    Listen to Katy Swann, QEF physiotherapist and Rhianna Brien, QEF Assistant Psychologist, talk about solutions to delivering multi disciplinary, person-centred care during the pandemic. This content was delivered as part of the Neuro Education Clinic webisode 'Rehabilitation in the wake of COVID-19' on 29th January 2021.

The focus of this year's International Day of People with Disabilities is ‘not all disabilities are visible', shining a light on hidden disabilities. Dr. Holly Hurn, QEF’s Clinical Psychologist, talks about the hidden disabilities that can result from an acquired brain injury (ABI) and how important it is that there is greater awareness to support people trying to cope after such a traumatic life event.

Our Director of Care and Therapy, Janet Schmitt, has been working with Heath Awareness on their Rehabilitation campaign, which launched on 25th September in The Guardian. The campaign looks at the latest developments in rehabilitation and raises awareness of the need for people to be able to access therapy and care.

Music therapy specialists Chroma are to provide music therapy to patients who are undergoing neuro-rehabilitation at QEF and will initially deliver a pilot project to deliver evidence-based neurologic music therapy.
