Staff at the Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People (QEF) and residents from the charity’s Independent Living Service (ILS) have shown it really is the season of goodwill by supporting another local charity this December. They put together a special Christmas Care Package for Renewed Hope in Redhill, made up of food and household items they have donated themselves.
22 residents and 4 QEF staff members have come together to form a 26 strong ‘Diversity Choir’, singing and signing to Andra Day’s ‘Rise Up’ as an inspiration for everyone during these challenging times. Some people can vocalise and so join in with the singing and others sign depending on their abilities, bringing everyone together as one Diversity Choir.
Two residents from Dorincourt will be taking part in Intersport Run Reigate’s 5k challenge on 15th September 2019 and will be the first ever participants to be pushed along the course by other runners!
Ashleigh and Jonathan are both residents at QEF’s Independent Living Service and both have cerebral palsy and learning disabilities. They aren’t able to use self-propelling wheelchairs to get around the course, but this isn’t going to stop them taking part in this fun public event.
