As a Health and Safety Advisor working part time, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring QEF meets its regulatory requirements under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, while promoting best practices across our multi-site organisation.
About the Role
Joining our People and Workplace Team, you’ll support our charity’s staff, volunteers, and service users. This is a part time role for 30 hours per week (37.5 full time equivalent. Key responsibilities include:
• Acting as the ‘Responsible Person’ for legal compliance with HSE and CQC regulations.
• Collaborating with the Head of HR and the external consultant to set and monitor annual health and safety goals.
• Overseeing risk assessments, safe working procedures, and the charity’s safety management system.
• Conducting workplace inspections and dynamic risk assessments (e.g., health, food, and fire safety).
• Building effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure safety protocols are met.
• Compiling and presenting data for the Health and Safety Group and Care Quality Committee.
About You
You’re passionate about health and safety, aligned with QEF’s values, and committed to Equality & Diversity. You also have:
• A NEBOSH National General Certificate (or are working toward a NEBOSH Diploma).
• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to occasionally work unsociable hours and attend multiple sites across South London, Surrey, and Kent.
• A current driving licence.
