Perhaps you have a hobby or something you really enjoy, like painting, cooking or gardening which you would be happy to spend an afternoon, or just a few hours, doing with our residents. Do you enjoy sports or current affairs and you could talk through the papers or football results, play cards, a board game or help research things on the computer? Maybe you would be happy to assist in one of our organised activities? Or could you spare a couple of hours to accompany someone to the shops or a hospital appointment?
Do you enjoy driving and have some time to spare on a Friday?
We are looking for a volunteer to drive our small van around our shops collecting and delivering donations.
Must be over 25 years of age and hold a full clean driving licence.
Two of our services at QEF are so excited to be coming together in our new Care and Rehabilitation Centre, however, it is creating a lot of work!
We need an additional team of volunteers to help with administration, maintenance, clearing and re-housing equipment and lots of other ad hoc jobs.
If you have any spare time and are interested in volunteering on this big, exciting project, we need to hear from you!
Sharing information and keeping all our employees and volunteers up to date with health and safety, GDPR and individual training requirements is of paramount importance at QEF and much of that is completed via elearning.
This role is really varied and could involve sorting donated items, fulfilling stationary orders, assisting the drivers with loading and unloading, helping with driver schedules, identifying and storing recycling or paperwork and filing.
It is an informal, team orientated role with lots of scope to learn new skills and meet new people.
Many companies select charities or voluntary organisations to support as their ‘charity of the year’. We are looking for someone to research who those companies are and what type of organisations they have supported in the past. This will enable us to shortlist who to contact.
You will be provided with leads and ideas of how to approach this task, however, creativity and exploring your own ideas will be welcomed.
Our busy HR department needs a volunteer to support the team with administrative tasks.
Duties would include applying for references, maintaining various databases, administering DBS applications, helping distribute and advertise permanent jobs and volunteer roles on websites, and other related activities.
The volunteer will need good organisational skills, a confident telephone manner and the ability to prioritise.
Our vibrant, busy corporate and community engagement teams create lots of opportunities to raise awareness and funds. These can be at local schools, summer/Christmas fairs, local shows, sporting and sponsorships events; even at Wimbledon Tennis!
At QEF we aim to raise as much awareness as possible of the services we offer. This enables more people to access them and hopefully gain more support for the work we do. Where better to start than children and young adults?
The QEF volunteer team is expanding and needs support in finding more volunteers. We do that by researching local groups, talking to volunteer centres, finding innovative places to advertise our opportunities and networking through local organisations.
This role would suit a confident outgoing person, who enjoys a challenge and likes being out and about. Some of the activities will be office and research based so will require a good working knowledge of Word and Excel, whilst other tasks may be more practical like distributing leaflets.
