Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson at the Spring Ladies Lunch

Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People (QEF) was proud to welcome Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, the parliamentarian, multiple Paralympic medal winning wheelchair racer and tv presenter as guest speaker at its Spring Ladies Lunch fundraising event at Epsom Downs Racecourse this week.

The event raised over £20,000 towards the vital services the charity provides for people with disabilities, including Bugzi micro powered-wheelchairs for children, and Independent Living Services at Dorincourt, which helps young people with complex disabilities to acquire key life skills and greater independence.

Baroness Grey-Thompson spoke about the challenges she faced to become a sporting champion and her involvement in the campaign to bring the Olympics to London in 2012, as well as the importance of organisations like QEF to provide opportunities to people with disabilities.

QEF would like to thank everyone who attended or was involved for their kind generosity.
